There are very good restaurants and pubs in Breda, friendly people everywhere. Nothing and nobody disturbs you ever! We visited close friends, so it was a holiday trip but not for sight- seeing. Breda itself has not much to offer, it is a mid-size town with a pedestrian zone in the center but no real highlights. Apart from the usual shops there are some nice restaurants and bars, but you have to know them. Compared to Amsterdam f.e. it lacks all the tourist attraction, so no canals or coffee shops. a bit plain, typical dutch.SigridAustria - 8.0Scored 8.0

Nice pups and restaurants. Easy shopping, good quality shops. Rent a hotel in the centre or rent a car. No trams in the city, like Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Hotels in the city can be expensive, just because they are in the city. But not necessarily good.

It has a very small cozy city center but, depending on what you like, it has enough entertainment. I took the tour in the cathedral and went up to the tower. Walked around the city center, went to the park, stond on the "Hoge Brug"... You can visit the begijnenhof and go to a couple of more museums. This hotel is almost at the main square in the city center, you can almost touch the church. If you plan a city trip to Breda this is the ideal spot. All restaurants, shops, bars etc are in walking distance. A few doors to the left of the entrance of the hotel is a great cigar shop with a wide variety of cigars, lighters etc. Worth a visit if you are a cigar (or pipe) smoker.

I stayed there mainly because Breda was a convenient location for my travels in Southern and Eastern Netherlands. Koen is a great host, very helpful. The breakfast was quite good and we were able to arrange it for the time that worked for me. The neighborhood is quiet, somewhat rural, but close enough to historic Breda (about 5-10 minute drive).
